At Vahmaafushi, meet your guide and professional operator for the safety briefing. Personal phone photos and videos are permitted only inside the marked Jetty Viewing Area. For the professional capture, your guide escorts you to the designated area on the jetty or platform, where you must remain completely out of the water.

Enjoy the guided viewing and professional capture without feeding, touching, chasing, surrounding, blocking or disturbing the animals. After the session, confirm your order and private delivery contact, then return on the scheduled transfer. Your edited order arrives within 24 hours of the actual shoot ending.

Not suitable for

  • Guests who cannot safely use the jetty or approved professional area, remain behind the marked boundaries or follow the guide's instructions. Discuss mobility or access needs before booking.
  • Guests seeking a swimming, wading or in-water wildlife interaction. All guests, companions and children must remain completely out of the water.

Your Maafushi meeting point, reporting time and scheduled transfers are confirmed when booking. Guests already on Vahmaafushi receive an agreed on-island meeting point. Please report 10 minutes early.

Important information

Not allowed

  • Swimming, wading, stepping into the water, sitting with feet in the water or any other guest water entry where sharks and stingrays gather.
  • Feeding, touching, chasing, surrounding, blocking, attracting or disturbing sharks and stingrays.
  • Entering the Restricted Professional Photo Area without a confirmed booking and designated guide.
  • Taking personal phone photos or videos outside the marked Jetty Viewing Area, or using unapproved poses.

Know before you go

  • The USD 25 Shark and Stingray Experience combines guided viewing with one professional media choice: 8 edited photos or one edited 30-second video. Prices are in USD. Confirm the guest count, session time, full payable total and any applicable charges or taxes before payment.
  • Extra media: One extra edited photo costs USD 5. One extra edited 30-second video costs USD 25. Confirm extras before capture so the operator can plan the session.
  • Want both formats? The total is USD 50 for 8 edited photos plus one edited 30-second video.
  • Wildlife sightings, number of animals, distance and movement depend on natural conditions. Weather, jetty operations and wildlife behaviour may require a delay, alternative time or reschedule. All times are Maldives local time.

Refund policy

Cancel more than 12 hours before your session: full refund or reschedule.

Cancel within 12 hours: one reschedule, subject to availability.

No-show without contacting the team: no refund.

If the operator cancels, the controlled areas are unsafe or the experience cannot operate, choose a suitable new slot or the applicable product refund if you decline the alternative.

Pet policy

Please confirm pet access with Reservations before booking. Pets must not enter the controlled jetty or professional areas unless the operator gives prior approval.

Emergency contact

Alert your host or guide immediately if you need urgent help. Ask for the current on-site emergency contact at check-in and follow staff directions at all times.

Itinerary

  1. Arrival and check-in

    Confirm the booking name, guest allowance, PHOTO or VIDEO choice, paid extras and private delivery contact.

  2. Safety briefing

    Your guide identifies the Jetty Viewing Area, professional area, stop signal and complete no-water-entry rule.

  3. Guided viewing

    View the sharks and stingrays from behind the marked jetty boundary. Personal phone media is permitted only inside this area.

  4. Professional capture

    With your guide, move to the approved dry professional area. Follow posing directions and remain completely out of the water.

  5. Order and return transfer

    Confirm your included format, extras and actual shoot end time. Meet your host for the scheduled return transfer. Final edited media is delivered privately within 24 hours.
